The highly impressive three-year-old Oliveanotherday has earned a shot at a Group 2 in Adelaide after continuing his remarkable autumn form with another dominant win at Caulfield on Saturday.
Oliveranotherday has won all three starts this autumn by a combined total of 10 lengths, but trainer Tom Dabernig said he was hardly surprised at the run of results for the gelding, who he identified early as a horse going places. 
“I always thought he was well above average and we knocked back some big offers from Hong Kong,” Dabernig said.
“It’s hard to say what he’s beating but horses like Bacash ran really well at Flemington in a good form race, so that’s a good indication.
“He’s a horse that from early doors showed us plenty. He took a little time, being a Nicconi, to mature but his prep he’s been faultless.
“Today, there were a few question marks with the track and things. We always thought he liked the softer ground, and he travelled up so easily and put them away comfortably, so we couldn’t have hoped for anything better.
“Last time in, he won well at Geelong, and he didn’t like the turning track at Moonee Valley and he pulled up a little shin sore, so we put him away and that’s been the making of him.”
The G2 Tobin Bronze Stakes (1200m) is run in Adelaide on April 25, two weeks out from the G1 Goodwood, which Dabernig said may also be an option before a spell.
“We don’t want to go too far into the winter but three-year-olds have a good record in the Goodwood, so we’ll see.”
Oliveranotherday ($2.35) had the race in his keeping a long way from home and enjoyed a two-length margin at the end over Empire Song ($20) with Bacash ($3.80) in third place.
