forTom Dabernig has confirmed that exciting two-year-old filly Cavalry Girl will have her next start in the $2 million Inglis Millenium (1100m) at Randwick on February 8.
Dabernig and Prime Thoroughbreds manager Joe O’Neill have rewarded Linda Meech with the ride.

Meech has ridden Cavalry Girl in her two starts to date for a second in the Geelong Diamond (1100m) to Cherish Me and then a win at Flemington over 1000m on January 18.
Dabernig gave Cavalry Girl a gallop in the clockwise direction at Warrnambool on Saturday and will give her another one on Tuesday.
“She galloped the reverse way on the grass on Saturday and she went well. I was quite pleased with that gallop. She was very natural and did it easily,” Dabernig said.
“At this stage she will do it again on Tuesday and then she will head to Randwick on Wednesday.”
Dabernig said he wanted to get the two-year-old filly up there ten days before the race.
“That way she can settle in and then she will have a gallop on the grass at Randwick on the Tuesday before the race,” he said.
“At this stage with a two-year-old it’s a bit unknown how she will settle in with the travel. She seems to have a good appetite and is professional in everything she does.
“It’s not easy for Victorian horses to go to Sydney, but I think she’s the one who could.”
Dabernig said the Blue Diamond Stakes was still a possibility for Cavalry Girl.
“It depends on how she goes. It’s two weeks later; it’s a bit of an ask but it’s still doable.”
“If she performed well and pulled up well, I wouldn’t rule it out.”
Dabernig said Cavalry Girl had gone so well for Meech and it was obvious she was suited to the daughter of Bivouac.
Cavalry Girl is a $7 chance for the Inglis Millenium with Sportsbet.
